No.The mob of supporters who had hung around were only interested in seeing one man: the Kangaroos full-back Reece Walsh.Walsh’s notoriety and reputation in Australia was solidified long before he made his Kangaroos debut last month, but the 23-year-old has now become the hottest attraction in rugby league, and is the star the sport can hang its hat on globally.Without his on-field heroics, this series would probably be going to a decider in Leeds given his performance in the first Test at Wembley.But off the pitch Walsh has been just as influential, with organisers in England probably thankful the Brisbane Broncos superstar has thrown himself into everything asked of him to leave some sort of legacy for this series.
Harry Newman and Joe Burgess have been added to Shaun Wane’s 19-man squad for Saturday’s third and final rugby league Ashes Test against Australia at Headingley.The inclusion of Newman means three Leeds players have the chance to represent their country at their home ground, with Kallum Watkins and Mikolaj Oledzki keeping their places from last week’s loss at Everton.Burgess will make his first international appearance for a decade with the 31-year-old having last played for England in the 2015 series against New Zealand.Newman replaces the Wigan centre Jake Wardle, while the Hull KR winger Burgess comes in for Dom Young, who sustained a broken foot in the defeat at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.Despite the Headingley clash having effectively been rendered a dead rubber, Wane is determined to avoid a repeat of the 3-0 whitewash suffered by England – then Great Britain – in the previous Test series in 2003.
Wane said: “Of course we are disappointed not to be going into this final game with the opportunity to win the Ashes, but the goal now is to come away from the series with a victory.“We did a lot of good things last week but ultimately, we need to be even better if we want to get a win this weekend.“It will be great to see Joe Burgess and Harry Newman in action this weekend.Joe has had a great season with Hull KR and Harry has been a consistent performer for me in an England jersey.“I’ve no doubt the England supporters will get behind us once more as they have in previous seasons at Headingley – and hopefully we can give them something to celebrate come Saturday evening.

And he saw something special.He saw Reece Walsh, and he’s like: ‘Well, I just love watching the best in the world do it.’” Australia’s assistant, Gorden Tallis, even said that the South Africa rugby union team, staying in the same hotel as the Kangaroos in London, only wanted to talk about Walsh.And while England have bizarrely chosen to hide away and bunker down in Wigan this week and will not even step foot in Leeds until they get off the bus for the third Test at lunchtime , Australia have thrown themselves into the local community with training sessions at Headingley and community events.It is the tourists, not the hosts, who have become the flavour of the month in the eyes of the British public with Walsh at the heart of it.

“The chance to see him play in Hull … I would expect there are a lot of rugby league fans who will want to get a ticket for the game.Personally, I’m so excited to see him play against Hull KR.As a rugby league fan, I want to see the biggest players playing in the biggest games in England.He will help make it a special night.”Walsh’s pull has even been so strong that there is an urban myth doing the rounds that there has been an unprecedented demand for replica versions of the bright pink shorts he has made famous during training sessions.

British Airways to offer free fast onboard wifi to all after Starlink deal
Passengers on British Airways flights will be able to access fast wifi onboard at no cost after the airline’s parent company signed a deal with Elon Musk’s satellite company.The carrier said the free “reliable and lightning-fast” wifi from Starlink would be available to customers flying in economy, business or first class from next month.BA’s owner, International Airlines Group (IAG), said it had reached agreement with Starlink to provide internet connectivity on more than 500 aircraft across its carriers, which also include Aer Lingus, Iberia and Vueling.BA said the rollout of the technology was part of a £7bn “transformation” and would provide lag-free internet access to passengers from boarding to landing, even when they are flying over oceans or remote regions. Amazon sues AI startup over browser’s automated shopping and buying feature
Amazon sued a prominent artificial intelligence startup on Tuesday over a shopping feature in the company’s browser, which can automate placing orders for users. Amazon accused Perplexity AI of covertly accessing customer accounts and disguising AI activity as human browsing.“Perplexity’s misconduct must end,” Amazon’s lawyers wrote. “Perplexity is not allowed to go where it has been expressly told it cannot; that Perplexity’s trespass involves code rather than a lockpick makes it no less unlawful.”Perplexity, which has grown rapidly amid the boom in AI assistants, has previously rejected the US shopping company’s claims, accusing Amazon of using its market dominance to stifle competition
